May 2010 Bird of the Month Snowy Egret

I have selected the elegant Snowy Egret as the Bird of the Month for May. One of my favorite birds for many reasons, firsts and foremost their appearance each spring is a sure sign that warmer weather is on it's way. They are so beautiful to look at and they take on different appearance just by the way they stand. The bird with the Golden Slippers the Snowy Egret.

  • Black legs and yellow feet.
  • Long thin neck, bill, and legs.
  • Bill dark.

Immature Description

Similar to adult, but bill pale at base and legs yellow with black front edge.
